When I first entered the world of HR, the department was primarily seen as a service function—managing payroll, recruitment, and compliance. The HR department was a world of processes and policies; while these were crucial, something always felt missing. Organizations weren’t connecting with their people on a deeper, human level. Over the years, I’ve witnessed a transformative shift in how organisations approach people management, and Zone has been at the forefront of this change.

At Zone, we’ve evolved beyond the traditional concept of Human Resources. We understand that people are not just “resources” to be managed. They’re the beating heart of our organization. When discussing People and Culture, we’re embracing the full spectrum of human potential. We’re creating an environment where everyone knows they can bring their whole selves to work, where their ideas are valued, and where they are more than just their job titles.

At Zone, we don’t just hire talent; we nurture it. We focus on creating a culture that fosters innovation, collaboration, and growth. The ‘People and Culture’ approach allows us to be more intentional about the employee experience—how our people feel, engage, and grow within the company. It’s about building an inclusive community where everyone has a voice and can thrive.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this journey has been witnessing how our people flourish when given the right environment. Whether it’s through our talent development programs, our focus on work-life balance, or our efforts to create a truly inclusive culture, Zone has become a place where people don’t just work—they belong.

This evolution has transformed how I view my role. I’m no longer just managing HR processes; I’m part of a movement that is redefining what it means to be part of a company. We are shaping the future of work, and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of.

As People and Culture Manager, my mission is to ensure that every individual at Zone feels valued, empowered, and connected. The evolution from HR to People and Culture is more than a name change—it’s a mindset shift, and it’s one that I believe is the key to building a lasting legacy for any organization.
